If shaving leaves you with bumps, the problem isn't your skin. It's the angle of your hair.

Coarse, tightly curled hair doesn't grow straight out of the follicle. It curves. And after a close shave, that freshly sharpened tip can curl back toward the skin instead of growing past it — which is what leaves the raised, irritated bumps along the jaw and neck that most Black men know well.

You can't change how your hair grows. You can change what you put on it, and how you shave.

Three steps

1. Aloe & Dead Sea Salt Beard Wash
Softens hair and clears the surface before the blade touches it. Sulfate-free, so it won't strip a jawline that's already had enough.

2. Aloe & Tea Tree Shaving Gel
A cushioning gel that lets the blade glide instead of drag. Aloe and tea tree, formulated for skin that reacts to shaving.

3. 10% Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Serum
For your non-shave nights. Glycolic acid gently exfoliates the surface layer, helping smooth the look of rough, uneven texture and soften the appearance of the dark marks bumps leave behind.

Who it's for

Men with coarse or tightly curled facial hair. Anyone whose skin reacts badly to a close shave. Built specifically for melanin-rich skin, where irritation tends to leave darker marks that outlast the bump itself.

How to use it

  • Shave days: Warm compress, wash, apply the gel, shave with the grain.
  • Non-shave nights: Wash, then a few drops of the glycolic serum.
  • Ease into the serum — two or three nights a week to start, then build up as your skin adjusts.
  • Wear sunscreen. Glycolic acid makes skin more sensitive to sunlight.

How you shave matters as much as what you use

  • Shave with the direction of growth, never against it
  • Don't pull the skin taut to get a closer cut — that's what buries the hair tip
  • Sharp blade, short strokes, light pressure, never more than two passes over the same area
  • Shave regularly rather than letting stubble build — hair that never gets long can't curl back in
  • Or skip the blade: clippers with a guard at 1–3 mm never cut to the skin
